Short description:
Come and find me two years ago ...
Six words that have thrown the ice hockey playing tomboy Arizona in an alternate dimension. Suddenly, she lives the life of an idolized cheerleader. She is from the happy life with her father pulled and pushed into a new, unknown life with her mother hated. All they know as Arizona Darley, but she is not. She is Arizona Stevens. While she tries to find answers for them are fixed only two things: that her mother Olivia is responsible for everything somehow - and that she needs to reclaim her old life.
Until she meets Kellan ...
The first sentence:
Olivia looked up at the sky and saw a shooting star.
The contents:
Arizona is 16 years old and lives with her father in Princeton. But it is not a normal girl, she plays hockey passionately. It does so in the school team as the only girl among many boys. To her mother and her sister Ela Arizona has not a very good ratio. The more it surprised her when she wakes up one day in a car next to her sister and her mother. Suddenly another man in front of her, claiming to be her father. Arizona thinks it would be in the wrong movie and would dream. When she wakes up the next morning, she meets the most impact - she's blonde. To make matters worse, they also learn that they are still in school is very popular and is in the cheerleading team. Now, Arizona is sure something is going wrong and determined her mother had something to do with all the needs. Arizona wants to ask her mother to talk, but then she met Kellan know and love and is unsure whether they even want to go back in their time.
My opinion:
I must honestly confess the portal my first time travel story is that I've read. The blurb made me very curious, and when I read the prologue, I was sure that I have read this book very much. In the prologue we learn Arizona mother Olivia know how she meets a man with whom she fell in love on the spot. It ends with the sentence: Come and find me two years ago.
After the prologue you're already in the middle of the story there. Arizona wakes up in the car on her mother, although she is sure to have got into the car by her dad. Always ask to be dealt with, on the one really wants to know the answer and so continue reading.
The protagonists were described in great detail, you could follow their actions with no problems and I found them equally sympathetic. I have especially taken with Arizona and Kellan. Arizona, it has been not easy. She was torn from her life and finds himself in a parallel universe in which it is the complete opposite of what it was before. However, I think I missed in Arizona a little more bite. On the one hand they want as fast as possible back to her old life, and on the other it does nothing for it and take it easy out Sun Here we knew at times not what one is just at her.
The story is largely told from the first person perspective of Arizona. Very few chapters follow from the perspective of Olivia. These were in my opinion, necessary, because otherwise you could possibly get a false picture of Olivia and could not understand her motives.
Portal captivated me from the very first page. The writing style was kept teen and was read quickly and fluently. The story has been described very graphically and in detail, and you get the feeling to be in the middle.
The cover I find very beautiful. The girl on it is certainly represent Arizona in their new life and I find it has been taken great because I had imagined hair like that.
The end of the book is somewhat surprising, you know before an open end and makes you want to volume 2I'll definitely buy the subsequent volumes are just interested because I like it with Kellan and Arizona continues.
My conclusion:
Imogen Rose has managed to launch a class-portal of Portal Chronicles. The book captivated me from the first page, and I could not even stop reading. I highly recommend it and forgive 5 of 5 stars
